Welcome to Temple Emanu-El Nursery School!

Gabrielle Savoldelli, Director
Founded in 1951, we are a small school that seeks to cultivate a child’s innate curiosity and creativity to encourage a life-long love of learning. We believe that children learn best through play. To nurture our students we provide a warm, structured and stable environment where children can thrive. We understand that the social, emotional, cognitive growth of a child are all deeply intertwined, and we value the development of all three domains.
Our students build independence by making choices throughout our day, exploring their environment through a balance of guided and teacher-driven activities, including art, books, games, blocks, sand, imaginary play, fine and gross motor activities, music, yoga and cooking. Jewish values and traditions are incorporated into our curriculum. Teachers strive to make every student feel truly known and understood.
While we give priority to members of Congregation Emanu-El and to siblings of our students, we are a member of the Independent Schools Admissions Association of Greater New York, and we welcome applicants from diverse ethnic, racial, socio-economic and religious backgrounds.
We look forward to meeting you and your family!
