Virtual Streicker Presents: Ayaan Hirsi Ali on “The Sexual Violence Even the #MeToo Movement Won’t Discuss”

Over the past five years, European cities have been wracked by an alarming wave of sexual violence and harassment, and the cause is so politically delicate that few in power are willing to discuss it: the arrival of several million migrants — mainly young men — from Muslim-majority countries.

With the same candor she uses to discuss women and Islam, Ayaan Hirsi Ali refuses to be silent on the burgeoning brutality — and in Prey: Immigration, Islam, and the Erosion of Women’s Rights, she issues a forceful warning about the dangers the West faces by refusing to take seriously the challenges of integrating into their societies young men raised in a world of institutionalized polygamy and lack of legal protections for women.

A courageous if controversial voice, Hirsi Ali was born and raised a Muslim in Somalia, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia and Kenya. A free speech and women’s rights activist, she rejected her faith and sought asylum in the Netherlands, where she became a member of parliament. She is the author of the New York Times bestseller Infidel: My Life and currently lives in the United States.
