Streicker Center: Daniel Silva’s THE CELLIST

A Virtual Book Launch Event

The fatal poisoning of a Russian billionaire. A musical virtuoso. A secret plot to undermine Western democracy.

Who better to untangle such an intricate web threatening the global order than everyone’s favorite Israeli spy/art restorer?

For two decades, Gabriel Allon, one of contemporary fiction’s most compelling heroes, has been simultaneously painting, leading dangerous missions for Israel’s Secret Service, keeping peace with his Italian-Jewish wife — and catapulting his creator, Daniel Silva, to the top of international bestseller lists.

Having thwarted attacks, stalked master terrorists, uncovered Soviet moles and penetrated ISIS, now he’s crisscrossing Europe on a perilous quest to find the money behind this new conspiracy.

The author of 24 New York Times bestselling thrillers, including 21 in the Gabriel Allon series, Silva is considered his generation’s finest writer of international intrigue and one of the greatest American spy novelists ever.

The Cellist will be released on July 13, 2021.

MORE ABOUT THE BOOK:
Master of international intrigue Daniel Silva follows up his acclaimed #1 New York Times bestsellers The Order, The New Girl, and The Other Woman with this riveting, action-packed tale of espionage and suspense featuring art restorer and spy Gabriel Allon.

The fatal poisoning of a Russian billionaire sends Gabriel Allon on a dangerous journey across Europe and into the orbit of a musical virtuoso who may hold the key to the truth about his friend’s death. The plot Allon uncovers leads to secret channels of money and influence that go to the very heart of Western democracy and threaten the stability of the global order. The Cellist is a breathtaking entry in Daniel Silva’s “outstanding series” (People magazine) and reveals once more his superb artistry and genius for invention—and demonstrates why he belongs “firmly alongside le Carré and Forsyth as one of the greatest spy novelists of all time” (The Real Book Spy).

In conversation with Katty Kay. Kay is the anchor of BBC World News America, based in Washington, D.C. She is also a frequent contributor to Meet the Press and Morning Joe, and a regular guest host for The Diane Rehm Show on NPR. In addition to her work on women’s issues, Kay has covered the Clinton administration sex scandal; four presidential elections; and the wars in Kosovo, Afghanistan, and Iraq. She was at the Pentagon just 20 minutes after a hijacked plane flew into the building on 9/11—one of her most vivid journalistic memories is of interviewing soldiers still visibly shaking from the attack. Katty grew up all over the Middle East, where her father was posted as a British diplomat. She studied modern languages at Oxford and is a fluent French and Italian speaker with some “rusty Japanese.” Kay juggles her journalism with raising four children with her husband, a consultant.
