Join us and Peter Yarrow for a community celebration honoring music, miracles and the liberation of the Jewish people.
- Peter Yarrow will perform Light One Candleand other songs during services.
- A moderated conversation with him will follow services.
- An extended Oneg Shabbat/Chanukah celebration with live music will complete our evening.
Yarrow is the famous Peter of Peter, Paul and Mary. He first performed Light One Candle at Carnegie Hall in 1982 and has been singing about the national liberation struggle of the Maccabees, as well as many other liberation struggles, ever since, impelled, in part, by his Judaism.
Following a festive Chanukah service, including the lighting of our historic Chanukiah, we’ll celebrate with an extended Oneg, complete with live music, piles of sufganiyot and all-you-can-eat latkes with a variety of toppings: Greek yogurt! Olive tapenade! Crème fraîche and herb! Mango chutney! Smoked salmon! Cinnamon apple! Tomato relish! Spicy tahini!
This program is generously sponsored by The Tisch Family.
Tickets for the next event in the Friday Night Live series will be available January 2019.
