We are a community committed to tikkun olam and making a positive impact in the lives of others in our congregation, New York City and beyond.
The Tikkun Olam Committee, formed in 2005 and generously funded by the Philanthropic Committee, continues to identify ways in which we, as a synagogue, can “lend a helping hand.”
Discover the many ways you can put your Jewish values into action and make a difference: provide support to fellow congregants during times of crisis or loss; feed and clothe people struggling with homelessness; engage in political activism; join the fight against antisemitism or help refugees from Ukraine or asylum seekers here in New York.
Members can also volunteer to be Shabbat greeters at Friday night services. Being a greeter is a great way to meet other members while also helping newcomers feel welcome.
