  • Dance the night away with our DJ

THE GREAT CHANUKAH DEBATE

Two of the leading lights of the Jewish culinary world – Darra Goldstein, founder of Gastronomica: The Journal of Food and Culture, and Jeffrey Yoskowitz, co-owner of Gefilteria, will take on the age-old question of what is more critical to Jewish life during this festive season: latkes or Sufganiyot. Which is more reflective of our core values? Or our history? Of our endurance as a people?

The debate will be moderated by food writer Gabriella Gershenson and will be followed by a tasting that will allow you to make your own judgments!

Join us following the candle lighting from 5:00 – 5:45 PM for some Jewish history, witty repartee and delicious food.

Registration is required and open to members only. Attendees will receive an electronic ticket to enter the party. All attendees 12 and over will be required to show proof of vaccination to enter. Masks should be worn when not eating.  If you have any questions, please reach out to the membership department at .

This event is made possible by the generous support of Carolyn and Bruce Silberstein, the Karel Greenberg Religious School Fund, Robert B. Fagenson, and Wendy and James Gold.
