On a recent evening, a group of dedicated Temple Emanu-El volunteers lived out our values of tikkun olam, repairing the world, by serving more than 225 clients at The Bowery Mission. With warm smiles and open hearts, volunteers helped serve dinner, connected with guests, and supported an organization that provides care and dignity to some of New York City’s most vulnerable neighbors.
In addition to the hot meal, every person who attended received a care package filled with essentials: razors, shaving cream, deodorant, hand sanitizer, a toothbrush and toothpaste, socks, a fleece blanket, shampoo, body wash, and tissues. These thoughtful gifts offered not only comfort but also a reminder that each guest is seen and valued.
