The World Zionist Congress (WZC) elections, occurring every five years, present a unique opportunity for Jews worldwide to influence key decisions affecting Israeli society and global Jewry. From March 10 to May 4, 2025, American Jews can cast their votes to determine the direction of significant institutions and the allocation of substantial funding.
HOW TO VOTE
Participating in the WZC elections is straightforward:
- Eligibility: Jewish individuals aged 18 or older by June 30, 2025, residing in the United States, and who have not voted in the November 2022 Knesset election.
- Registration and Voting:
- Visit the official voting website: https://azm.castiron.votem.net/
- Complete the registration process, which includes a $5 fee to cover administrative costs.
- Select the “Vote Reform” slate (#3 on the ballot) to support our movement’s values.
- Be Counted: After voting, please complete this exit poll in order to show your congregational pride. We are listed as “Congregation Emanu-El of the City of New York” in the dropdown menu.
WHY YOUR VOTE MATTERS
The WZC serves as the “parliament of the Jewish people,” bringing together representatives from Jewish communities globally to deliberate on pivotal issues. Delegates elected in this cycle will influence the allocation of over $1 billion annually, impacting areas such as:
- Religious Pluralism: Ensuring diverse Jewish practices are recognized and respected in Israel.
- Educational Funding: Supporting Jewish educational initiatives both in Israel and the Diaspora.
- Community Development: Enhancing programs that strengthen Jewish identity and continuity worldwide.
A robust voter turnout from the Reform Jewish community is essential to ensure our values—democracy, equality, and inclusivity—are well-represented in these decisions.
The WZC elections are a powerful avenue for us to express our commitment to a vibrant and inclusive Jewish future. By voting, we take an active role in shaping policies that reflect our shared values. Let’s seize this opportunity to make our voices heard and support leaders like Rabbi Joshua Davidson in guiding our community and Israel toward a brighter future.
