For the first night of Chanukah, Temple Emanu-El’s Fifth Avenue Sanctuary steps became a beacon of interfaith harmony and joyous celebration.

Rabbi Joshua Davidson and Rabbi Amy Ehrlich led the candle lighting service. Timothy Cardinal Dolan of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese, Rev. A.R. Bernard of the Christian Cultural Center, Muslim-American interfaith activist Sabeeha Rehman, author of the book We Refuse to Be Enemies: How Muslims and Jews Can Make Peace, One Friendship at a Time Rabbi Joseph Postasnik from the New York Board of Rabbis all offered words of solidarity and lit menorahs with us.

Cantor Mo Glazman and the Temple Emanu-El Teen Choir led us in singing and reciting the Chanukah blessings.

The recording of the livestreamed serviced is below if you would like to watch again, share with a friend or if you were unable to come in person.
