Holy War or Holy Peace: Where Do We Go From Here?
Join us for this critical and informative lunch talk with leaders from the Rossing Center, a multi-faith organization based in Israel. Leaders from the Rossing Center will discuss with us the challenges and possibilities facing interreligious peacebuilding in Israel and Palestine. They will draw on their unique religious backgrounds and experience to shed light on the current situation and give us an opportunity to grapple together with the situation we are all facing.
Please note: Lunch will be served from 11:30am-12:00pm and the talk will begin shortly after. In honor of Ramadan, no food will be permitted once the talk begins.

Back by popular demand! We are excited to invite members of the congregation to join us for a special History of Emanu-El Tour with Mark Heutlinger, our administrator emeritus, and Warren Klein, our museum curator, on Monday, April 8th at 5:30 PM.
Prior to his retirement last June, Mark spent 34 years at Temple Emanu-El. He takes pride in the history of our congregation. As the Bernard Museum curator, Warren oversees our temple’s archives and the permanent collection. Together, they cover the magnificent history of our congregation.
At the beginning of the tour, Warren will show select items from The Temple Emanu-El collection in the Bernard Museum. Then, we will go down to the Fifth Avenue Sanctuary, where Mark will share his insights on the temple’s extraordinary history. You don’t want to miss this much-anticipated, pre-Passover event.

Women on the Move: Sandra Fox
Remember the thrill of summer camp, where you could be anyone, enjoy freedom and bond with friends? Initially, Jewish camps weren’t designed so kids could have fun. Instead, camps aimed to help immigrant kids and preserve Jewish identity. Yet, they became accidental sanctuaries, akin to Neverland. In her fascinating new book, The Jews of Summer, Sandra Fox explores both the institution and the experience of camp, providing an unexpected window into the evolution of the American Jewish community.
