September 22, 2022 – Summer might be over, but the good energy is spilling over into fall at Emanu-El Downtown. On Sunday, September 18, we welcomed over 150 babies, kids, and grown-ups to our New Year Festival, an afternoon of arts and crafts, music, apples, honey and so much more!
Highlights included:
A sing-a-long with Temple Emanu-El clergy including a very, very long tekiyah gedolah
An illustration workshop and reading with Ann Koffsky, author of Kayla and Kugel
A concert with CJ from Ramblin’ Dan
Lawn games
Face painting
Probably the first-ever Mezuzah vote
An apple tasting
And 300 apple cider donuts…all gone!
Many parents shared how grateful they were to have Emanu-El Downtown (one parent even remarked that this was the type of community she always dreamed of having for her children.) It was a joy to see so many children deeply engaged in all the various activities. Our goal at Emanu-El downtown is to have fun…and we did!
