Tikkun Olam: Mishloach Manot for the Troops

Volunteers came together on Tuesday, February 8 to assemble 125 Mishloach Manot packages for our Jewish Troops who are serving our country, in partnership with JWB Jewish Chaplains Council®. All items in the package were Kosher.

This has been an ongoing Temple Mitzvah for many years. We thank our volunteers so much for helping to continue Temple Emanu-El’s Purim tradition! Special thanks to Nancy Stolman, Pete Webb, Eileen Melniker, Eileen Ames, Lori Vili, and Marlene Yokel for their effort and dedication toward helping us make this Purim Holiday a special one for our troops.

JWB Jewish Chaplains Council® is a nonprofit, U.S. government-accredited agency that serves the religious needs of Jewish military personnel and their families, wherever they serve, as well as patients in VA hospitals. Founded in 1917, on the cusp of World War I, the Jewish Welfare Board (JWB), as it was known at the time, sought to serve young Jewish men entering the military. Today, JWB Jewish Chaplains Council®, a signature program of JCC Association of North America, continues this work by honoring the service of Jewish men and women in the United States armed forces, safeguarding their rights, fulfilling their spiritual needs, and combating loneliness and isolation.
