National Healthcare Decisions Day 2021
April 16th is National Healthcare Decisions Day. This is a good day to think about your potential healthcare needs, or the decisions your family might need to make if you were unable to communicate your wishes. Then start planning an advance care directive and assign someone as your healthcare proxy, the person who will help make sure your preferences are heard and respected.
Here, at Temple Emanu-El we support advance care planning. The trained facilitators from our What Matters Committee can help members thoughtfully consider and document their preferences, with opportunities to engage Jewish values as part of the process.
So we encourage you to learn about advance care planning by scrolling to the bottom of the Emanu-El Cares page on our temple website.
But if you’d rather chat with one of our trained facilitators, then please email us at so that we can arrange for you to talk to one of our facilitators via Zoom on May 6th at 1:30 pm.
Wishing you all the best,
Linda Bernstein, What Matters Group Coordinator
