Cantor Lori Corrsin

LORI CORRSIN – Cantor Emerita

Cantor Lori Corrsin became cantor and music director of Temple Emanu-El in 2004 and cantor emerita in 2015. Born in Detroit, she received a bachelor’s in music from the University of Michigan, a master’s in sacred music from Hebrew Union College–Jewish Institute of Religion and became invested as a cantor in 1992. Prior to joining Emanu-El, she served Larchmont Temple in Westchester, N.Y., and Temple Israel in West Bloomfield, Michigan.

A soprano, Cantor Corrsin has sung throughout North America, Europe and Israel. She is a published composer and recording artist with Transcontinental Music Press. Prior to becoming a cantor, she was an established freelance classical singer in New York City.

Cantor Corrsin received an honorary Doctorate of Music from HUC-JIR in May 2017.
