| CONGRATULATIONS to the members of Team Emanu-El NYC (organized by Rabbi Ben Zeidman, center) who participated in the NYC Schlep 2011, a 5K run/walk, on July 17, 2011. Together they raised more than $400 to benefit cutting-edge breast cancer research at Rabin Medical Center of Greater Tel Aviv, one of Israel’s leading hospitals. Breast cancer is the most common cancer afflicting Jewish women in the United States and Israel. Throughout their lifetimes, one in eight Jewish women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. Genetic mutations in the BRCA genes cause breast cancer and are known to be more prevalent among Jewish women. |
