Who We Are

Grounded in history, Saviv is funded generously by Temple Emanu-El,
the third oldest Reform congregation in the United States.

Once a month, we bring together beautiful music, contemporary poetry and prose readings, and traditional Reform liturgy for a transformative Kabbalat Shabbat experience.

Services are led by Rabbi Sara Sapadin and soloist Hadar Orshalimy.
Participation is free and open to all who wish to attend.

Rabbi Sara Sapadin joined the Emanu-El clergy in
July 2017 as Adjunct Rabbi. In addition to leading our Saviv services, Rabbi Sapadin teaches our Shabbat morning Torah Study and Discovering Judaism program. She was ordained
from HUC-JIR in 2007, where she earned marks of distinction
in Bible, liturgy and homiletics.

Hadar Orshalimy is an American-Israeli singer/songwriter. While growing up, Hadar was a popular performer in Israel,
with appearances on Israeli TV. Upon completing her mandatory
Army service, she enrolled in the Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music in Israel and then transferred to Berklee College of Music in Boston, where she graduated with honors.
