Teen Benefit

a

ttended by high school teens from all over New York City, Emanu-El’s Teen Benefit is host to multiple DJs, fabulous hors d’oeuvres, decadent dessert buffets, eco-friendly give-away bags, and a raffle with tickets to various sporting events and gift cards to high-end stores. Proceeds from the event are given to American Jewish World Service, an organization, motivated by Judaism’s imperative to pursue justice, to alleviate poverty, hunger and disease among the people of the developing world regardless of race, religion or nationality.

This annual program is planned entirely by the Emanu-El co-chairs and their committee. The teens develop a fundraising strategy and coordinate all details for the event, including selecting the venue, designing the invitations, and soliciting donors for raffle prizes and monetary donations. The teens show incredible commitment toward a cause that is important to them.

In its inaugural year, Emanu-El’s Teen Benefit raised $13,300 for the efforts of American Jewish World Service. In 2012, our event raised more than $22,000. Help us keep our efforts going! Information about our 2013 event will be forthcoming…
