Midnight Run

Midnight Run is a volunteer program dedicated to finding common ground between the housed and the homeless. For Temple Emanu-El youth, the evening begins with a Family Dinner and Shabbat Kodesh Service. Then, teens will prepare meals, sort clothing and go out to designated spots in New York City to hand them out to NYC’s homeless community.

Friday, February 6, 2015 • 5:45 PM

All students from ninth through 12th grade are invited to participate. Students will earn six community-service hours. Register to participate with our coordinator of Youth Learning and Engagement.

NOTE: This activity is completely safe and accredited. Teens from schools, youth groups, churches and synagogues perform this activity every weekend.

We also need help from the greater Emanu-El community!
We are collecting various items to hand out during the program, including warm coats, pants, sweaters, sweatshirts, hats, gloves, shoes, backpacks, and new socks and underwear. Items may be dropped off to either Temple entrance (One East 65th Street or 10 East 66th Street) until February 6. Please deliver items in a bag or box marked “Midnight Run.” Thank you for your support!
