New Board Members

The following women were elected to the
Women’s Auxiliary board at the 2012 Annual Meeting:


SARAH JANOVER (Religious School Liaison to the Women’s Auxiliary)
Sarah Janover has been a member of Temple Emanu-El since 1996, when she married her husband, Tom, in the Beth-El Chapel. Her husband’s grandparents, Florence and William Troy, joined the congregation in the 1940s, and his family have been members ever since. Sarah will join the Temple Board as a Trustee in the incoming class of 2015.

Sarah is an ardent supporter of the Lifelong Learning staff and its many programs. She has been a co-chair of the Parent’s Association for the Religious School for the past three years. She was a member of the Revisioning Committee and an active participant in its B’nei Mitzvah subcommittee, which resulted in new procedures and communications surrounding bar/bat mitzvah at Emanu-El.

Sarah was thrilled to be part of the Emanu-El group (along with her husband and daughters) that spent a wonderful and meaningful 10 days in Israel in December 2009.

Sarah has a bachelor’s from Tufts University and an MBA from Columbia University. She spent 14 years as a magazine publishing executive before leaving the field to be at home with her children — Leah, age 15, and Emily, age 12. Sarah held a number of positions at Time Inc., including Chief of Staff at PEOPLE and Business Manager at In Style.
