Saviv

Open to Temple members and nonmembers in their 20s and 30s, Saviv is a Jewish community for people who seek to explore authentic, progressive Jewish tradition and practice in an open, inviting atmosphere.

Shabbat services are a unique experience that combine experimental liturgy and incredible music with meaningful ritual and learning. Holiday celebrations bring people together to have fun and experience Judaism all over the city.

Saviv is sponsored generously by Temple Emanu-El, but participants are not required to be Temple members. Becoming a part of the Saviv community is as simple as joining our email list.

Rabbinic Intern Carlie Daniels has been meeting for coffee with the adult children of Temple members — those who have attended Saviv events and those who have yet to participate. Our clergy team likewise is committed to outreach to people in their 20s and 30s who live in New York City but are not affiliated with Emanu-El, as well as those who have grown up at Emanu-El and either returned to or remained in New York after college. Carlie looks forward to continuing these conversations throughout the year.

Email Carlie if you are interested in speaking with her »

Check out the Saviv website for more information about becoming a part of Saviv and to view an up-to-date schedule of gatherings. Please contact Rabbi Benjamin Zeidman with any questions.
