
he Goldsmith Religious School Building of Congregation Emanu-El is located at 10 East 66th Street. Arrival and dismissal is from this location only, unless noted otherwise.- Monday classes (Grades K–4) meet from 4 PM to 6 PM.
- Wednesday classes (Grades 5–6) meet from 4 PM to 6 PM.
- Sunday classes (Grades K–6) meet from 9:30 AM to 12 PM.
Mitzvah Corps is the Religious School program for students in Grade 7. Eighth graders also may participate.
- Learning Sessions meet on designated Sundays from 9:30 AM to 12 PM and designated Wednesdays from 4 PM to 6 PM in the Goldsmith Religious School Building. Students may attend either session in the month.
- Actions Sessions meet once a month and take place off-site. Each Action Session requires a separate permission slip to be filled out by the student’s parent or guardian.
- Reflection Sessions meet on designated Sundays from 9:30 AM to 12 PM and designated Wednesdays from 4 PM to 6 PM in the Goldsmith Religious School Building. Students may attend either session in the month.
Lirdof Tzedek (“Pursuit of Justice”) is a program for eighth graders that will train them to be effective leaders.
- Sunday Seminars meet at the Marvin and Elisabeth Community House, One East 65th Street, from 4 PM to 6:30 PM; dinner is included.
- Volunteer Sessions are held at the Association to Benefit Children (ABC), 1841 Park Ave. and 126th Street. A bus will leave from the Goldsmith Religious School Building at 4:10 PM. Parents must pick up their children from ABC at 6:30 PM.
- Additional Sessions will take place at various times and locations.
High School Confirmation offers our ninth through 12th graders a path for building self-awareness and confidence, while connecting to the Jewish community and understanding communal responsibility.
- Confirmation Steps meet once a month at various times from September through the Confirmation ceremony (June 2, 2012); either lunch or dinner is offered at each session. All Steps meet at the Marvin and Elisabeth Cassell Community House, One East 65th Street.
- Students are expected to commit to this program and attend each Step of the journey. If for any reason that a student needs to miss a Step for an unavoidable conflict, then the student will work with the staff to make up the lesson.
