A great variety of marble and stone materials was incorporated into the Sanctuary and Chapel design. Through restoration, the veneer of dirt and soot has been removed, and the beautiful colors of the columns and the intricate designs of their capitals are visible once again. The walls of the Temple were covered with an acoustic tile from the Guastavino Company, in shades varying from light to dark buff, which were intended to reduce reverberation.
